What we hold, why we hold it, and what you can ask us to do with it. Written to be read rather than to be survived.
Who this covers
Two groups of people. Garages, the businesses that sign up and their staff. And customers, the vehicle owners whose details a garage records in order to do the work. A garage decides what to record about its customers; we hold it on their behalf.
What a garage’s account holds
- The name, email address and phone number of each person with a sign-in
- Which workspace and branches they belong to, and what they are allowed to do
- A record of significant changes they make, so a garage can answer “who did this?”
What a garage records about its customers
- Name and contact details, so the vehicle owner can be reached
- Vehicle details, registration, make, model, mileage and service history
- Work carried out, what was approved, and what was paid
We do not sell any of this, share it with advertisers, or use it to train anything. It exists so a garage can run its own business.
Tracking links
A vehicle owner receives a link that shows their own visit. It is deliberately durable so a garage can send it again, and it shows progress and cost only, never the garage’s margins, its staff, or any other customer. A garage can revoke a link at any time.
How long we keep it
For as long as the garage’s account is open. A service history is only useful if it goes back, so we do not delete it on a timer. If a garage closes its account we remove its data within thirty days, and we will confirm when it is gone.
We are candid that a formal retention schedule is not yet in place. It is on the roadmap and this page will change when it lands.
What you can ask for
- A copy of what we hold about you
- A correction, if something is wrong
- Deletion, where we are not required to keep it
- An explanation of anything on this page that is not clear enough
A vehicle owner should ask their garage first, because the garage decides what is recorded. If that does not resolve it, write to us and we will help.
Where your data sits
Each garage occupies its own isolated workspace. Our security page explains how that is enforced, and is honest about what we have not yet done.
